Readers’ Theater Summer Camp

Our two-week reading enrichment camp will provide students with opportunities to work on phonemic awareness, decoding, and reading comprehension skills while focusing on creating and performing a Readers' Theater play.

Designed for rising second through fifth graders, this camp will target specific reading skills that students often lose during the summer. To practice these skills in an active and engaging way, campers will focus on producing a Readers' Theater. The campers will work together to choose the script, create the costumes, and paint the set. In addition to literacy skills, the campers will participate in improv activities and cooperative games. Readers' Theater engages students in performing a play while they read the script - allowing students to practice their reading skills in a meaningful and purposeful way.

Participants will be capped at 10 students to ensure each camper receives individualized support.
